Say hello, air your views about the video content and usefulness (to see what the underwater hockey 'thing' is about).
All ages can access the site, so please use reasonable language and content.
***Use 'postreply' as 'newtopic' wont work for you here.
Thanks
The website video page can be accessed direct from this link:

INFO
Old posts and comments to this forum are being sorted from a major host crash (May2006), so are not availble at the moment.
Real shame, as was a great collection of comment and thought since the campod research project was made into the real thing and tested... err, and it worked!.. the subsequent samples were edited and made into the little 1.5 minute 'Club-Play' sample video and this was popped onto the website on its release in December 2005.
The comments were all about the project and the vid bit.
Although we are all a bit gutted at the loss, hopefully something will rebuild and develop, as seemed a useful little forum to stimulate, thoughts on the game, by those who may not have ever seen the game of underwater hockey... and also those who are/maybecome interested in filming the game as well..... all leading to more 'hopefully' good exposure of this very dynamic (yet, to date, often unseen), game.
Thanks for your patience and support.

ooooooooh. Real shame. Vid was great. Will be worth setting up again. As I for one showed looooads a people the vid and they were enlightened to ''''SEEING'''' the game of underwater hockey... octopush... push!
One person was the 'man who knows / done everything'! At Christmas, I sat him in front of the computer and asked if he'd heard of this game - of course = YES. Then I asked if he'd SEEN this game - um, well, NO!
He has now!!!
Christmas 2005 - The man who seen all, saw underwater hockey (propperish) for first time. NICE ONE.
Good luck, Charlie Farliegh (honest!) |

Yep, need it back, it was great. It takes you to the game, or maybe brings the game to you.
Which ever way, it is a relaxing way to follow whats going on. Good luck with the next bit of filming - the underwater hockey game. Cool.

The idea in 2001/2 was brilliant, the research and development of the game, media and engineering was cool, the end result has great potential so the spectator can seethegame!
Also to encourage others to film it 'properly' so a spectator is 'comfy' when watching the 'story' of a game unfolding before them.
NICE ONE |

woow, shame about the big crash. wheres the vid? it was indeed a good venture, so worth replacing the missing stuff / resetting up etc etc.
I made a comment on the video when it came out before Christmas. It was the first time I had seen the game of underwater hockey, filmed in a way that I could watch a little sample of a story.
The samples you filmed, edited and put together gave a taster of the game, not just amature home-made-hand-held-video shots of ''something'' going on under the water.
The project is cool as well. I know of people that have been inspired to film the game properly (they are jelous of what you have acheived.. they are a bit sad, like that), but it all goes on to promote the game of underwater hockey.

Sorry to hear about hiccup - I am pleased the website is back up - still looks ''all-together'', so that's good.
The video was a good thing to have created so hope it gets back on-line soon.
The passes and flicks of the puck, were brilliant. The filming set-up, cam-pod design, which allowed the camera to pan, allowed me to sit in comfort and follow the moves as they passed. Great effort.
Good luck with the filming of the game. Worthwhile effort.

Yeah shame about crash. Hope all able to be sorted. The vid bit was the cherry on the cake. Good to have seen it, so know it would be good for others to see-the-game as well.
It was the camera set-up that made the underwater hockey shots really good. If you don't know or think about the camera work, you don't know what goes into an interesting shot and so just take it for granted.
Your set up was well thought out and having to go and make your own unique design camera-pods in order to get those angles you worked out to be the best for the spectator was worthy of note.
So, NOTED!

it needs to be re-established as it was a great demo of the game. the race from both ends for the puck. holding and passing by the defence. finding and flick passing by the attack forwards (very good bit of footage). an end goal (gulley)........... it all wrapped up the gist of the game and showed it in a well filmed set-up.
good luck with sorting out the aftermath of the crash. but please re-establish the video as was a great peice of work that helps a lot of people '''''''see the game''''''' !!! |

Nice bit of thinking. The sample results of the octopush video are good results. You can see the team play as the passes happen. More please. Tony. Perth. Australia. |
