hindering the play of a player is the typical foul.

as for competive cheats - like all competitive sports, the players often push the boundaries to see what they can get away with. In a competition match this is governed by refs in the water. In a club game it is governed by the ego and 'sportmanship' (or not Exclamation ) of the individuals in the game.

Obstructing a player that has possession of the puck is a foul.

You hold the pusher stick handle in your fist and so this is right next to the part of the pusher where the puck is being pushed around - it is a foul to have the puck being moved around if it is touching your hand in any way

Dirty fouling can also occur on the surface out of direct pley - it has been known that a nudge from an elbow to the corner of the opponents mask results in releasing the watertight seal on the face and it floods. The hindered opponent is then left flapping on the surface whilst trying to quickly replace a sealed fit. - By this time the fouling player has gone down into play and has no immediate opposition. Naughty.
