at local competitions a game usually is between 10 an 15 mins each half. (swapping ends in the interval)

I'm not sure what the 'official' time duration is.

The games at international and club level offically are regulated by both CMAS - international governing body, and the BOA which is the british governing body.

The Length of games are 15 minutes each way = 30 mins total game play.

However when it come to non serious competitions or other events such as invitational games, these could be shortened to suit pool times / number of teams taking part. most players would prefer to play the longer matches with few teams i would suggest.

I would like to second the suggestions. The games should be longer; at least 25-30 minutes each way and about 50-60 minutes of total gameplay.
