Thats an interesting point that newbies are given a green hat when first arrive.

Another ID method (used in UK) is to give the newbies, orange pushers, so when they are given a join in session with the rest of the players, the players back away from a tackle when the orange pusher person gets a go on the puck. ( errrr.... some players actually dont... and they tackle the newbie.... bad-form for the newbies confidence, and the selfish player should get a lashing or two from the other club players!).

Maybe you can see it on the picture. The new player has also another colour of clove on his hand. competition players has beatyfull colours on there cloves and newbees has on the training white clove with grey stripes on it. Only the old school players sometimes were the old cloves that are white or black. But they now that green caps and white/grey cloves are protected players.
